Dorset Broadband – We need your help!

Dorset is set to be one of the first areas in the UK to benefit from the government’s Project Gigabit funding to bring gigabit-capable broadband (1,000 Mbps) to households and businesses.

To help inform the government of the areas that could benefit from this investment, Dorset Council have spoken to broadband suppliers about their commercial plans for Dorset and need your help.

Purbeck Broadband are asking residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to complete a survey, so the council have a thorough understanding of stakeholders’ views on the current level of broadband provision in Dorset. This is called the Public Review.

When the Public Review has been completed, the government department Building Digital UK (BDUK) will begin a procurement exercise inviting broadband suppliers to bid for delivering gigabit capable connections to parts of Dorset.

It’s Purbeck Broadbands view that ALL Parts of Dorset should receive gigabit-capable broadband, not just selected areas!
